Trip Overview

Embark on an epic adventure to the roof of the world with the Everest Base Camp Trek! This iconic trek takes you to the base of Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak, through stunning landscapes, cultural wonders, and challenging hikes.

Trekking for 12-14 days, you’ll follow in the footsteps of legendary climbers and experience the unique culture of the Sherpa people. Starting with a scenic flight to Lukla, you’ll hike through Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorak Shep, and finally, the base camp of Mount Everest.

The views along the way are breathtaking, with snow-capped mountains, glaciers, and valleys surrounding you. You’ll also get to visit monasteries, museums, and Sherpa villages, learning about the traditions and way of life of the local people.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Day
You will be welcomed by us at the airport and transferred to the hotel for check in. Enjoy your time at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Trek preparation and Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour
Early in the morning, your guide will pick you up at the hotel for the sightseeing tour. Enjoy the historical and cultural aspect of Nepal in Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath stupa, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath stupa. Today’s day is set aside for any last minute preparation for your trek if necessary.
Day 3: Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding(2610m)
Today, we initiate our trekking journey with an absolutely amazing flight to Lukla( 40 minutes). Endure the awesomeness of being parallel to sky dominating peaks with a wonderful landscape beneath! As we arrive Lukla, we make our way along the Dudhkoshi river to Phakding via Cheplung village. Overnight halt at a guesthouse in Phakding.
Day 4: Trek to Namche(3438m)
Today, we head to one of the happening towns in the Everest region – Namche Bazaar. At first we pass village of Jorsale and enter the Sagarmatha National park. The backdrop of the beautiful mountains in Everest region, mani stone and carved walls with prayers, everything during our trek is simply outstanding. You will pass some not so pleasing trail on the way, however, the unique flora and fauna along with the excitement of crossing long suspension bridge in the way will keep you alive. Overnight stay at Namche.
Day 5: Acclimatization in Namche(3440m)
Today, we spend our day in Namche itself as this day is set aside for acclimatization. Marching forward without proper acclimatization may lead to altitude sickness. Therefore, today, we wander around the joyful village of Namche and hike up to Everest View Hotel with Synagboche Airport on the way. The views of the mountains from Everest View Hotel is fabulous. You can enjoy your sip of tea or coffee enjoying the awesome views of mountains like Mt. Everest, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Tawache, Mt. Thamserku, etc. The museum and photo gallery on our way back is also another attraction of the day. Overnight stay at Namche.
Day 6: Trek to Tengboche(3870m)
We live the lively village of Namche and move ahead following our trail. The trail undulates up and down through the rhododendron forest to Tengboche. The views of the mountains along our way to Tengboche is awesome. Tengboche is a view point that offers close up views of mountains in Everest region. More than this, Tengboche is a popular spiritual center that possesses a popular monastery known as Tengboche monastery. We visit the monastery and enjoy the views of mountains from the monastery. Overnight at a guesthouse in Tengboche.
Day 7: Trek to Dingboche(4360m)
Admiring the beauty from Tengboche, we head to Dingboche today. We cross a suspension bridge over Imja Khola and ascend to Pangboche that lies between beautiful Mani stones. We further climb up to the vibrant and charming Sherpa settlement of Dingboche. Dingboche is a popular summer valley at the high altitude region that bestows stunning views of Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Island Peak. Overnight at guesthouse in Dingboche.
Day 8: Hike to Nagerjun
As we reach Dingboche, we spend an extra day here for acclimatization purpose. We can wander around the valley or hike up to Nagerjun. Hike up to Nagerjun is best recommended for acclimatization. Though you need some rest, hiking up will add to your journey further. Today, we hike up a hill that lies on edge of Chhukung valley. The walk is steep and strenuous but the panoramic views of Lobuche East, Lobuche West, Kangtega, Taboche Peak, Thamserku and Ama Dablam from the top is outstanding. On a clear day, you can get some stunning views of Makalu too. After this steep climb up, we descend down slowly to Dingboche in the evening for overnight stay. We stay at a guesthouse in Nagerjun for the night.
Day 9: Trek to Lobuche(4940m)
Today, we leave Dingboche and continue along the trail to the wide valley to Dughla. On the way, we pass the Trekkers Aid Post at Pheriche which is regulated by Western volunteer doctors and assisted by the Himalayan Rescue Association. It offers necessary treatments to trekkers. We pass rock-strewn slants on the way and climb up to Chupki Lhara with stunning views of mountains. We can see the apex of Chupki Lhara adorned with prayer flags and Mani stones. We further walk down to the Khumbu Glacier moraine for scenic views of Khumbutse, Mahalangur Himal, Lingtren, and Pumori. From here, we continue walking until we reach Lobuche. We stay at a guesthouse in Lobuche for the night.
Day 10: Trek to Everest Base Camp(5364m) via Gorekshep(5170m)
Today, we head to our ultimate destination – The Everest Base Camp. We march slowly from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp via Goreshep. We can see some colourful prayer flags and stones piled up as we reach the Everest Base Camp. The moment in Everest Base camp(5364m) can be one of the best feeling you have ever had and you will ever have. Rejoice your time in the Base Camp. Overnight halt near the Everest Base Camp.
Day 11: Hike to Kalapattar(5545m) and trek back to Pheriche(4288m)
Today is yet another beautiful day that you will rejoice for ever and ever. We hike up to Kalapattar( 5545m) for the close up views of the mountains in the Everest region. The golden rays of the sun glittering in the White Mountain snow, you would surely wish for the time to freeze there, at that moment. The awesome views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Amadablam and many more standing tall one after the other, you couldn’t have asked for anything more. After the beautiful hike up to Kalapatthar, we descend down to Pheriche(4288m) via Gorekshep. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Pheriche.
Day 12: Trek to Namche Bazaar(3440m)
Today, we retrace our footsteps back from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar. We walk through same ups and downs, through the same rhododendron and pine forests to the buzzling town of Namche Bazaar. Overnight at a guesthouse in Namche Bazaar.
Day 13: Trek to Lukla(2800m)
Today, we leave Namche and stroll down through the same well paved path to Lukla. Overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 14: Fly back to Kathmandu
Today, we head back to the capital city – Kathmandu, the place from where we started our journey. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 15: Leisure day in Kathmandu
Today is your leisure day in Kathmandu. You can either rest or stroll across the valley for shopping or anything else as per your preference. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 16: Departure Day
Finally, it is time for us to bid you a goodbye. Your guide will escort you to the airport before your scheduled flight for your journey ahead.
