Ridge Hike of Kathmandu valley is an awesome way to experience the beauty of Kathmandu and its nearby places in a single trip. Experience the cultural richness of Nepal in the UNESCO listed heritage sites of Kathmandu. The fine art, crafts, and architecture of the valley is a phenomenon which you will see in the temples and palaces of Kathmandu. Kathmandu is also known as the city of god and goddess as you will find a temple in every corner of the city. The art and craft work manifested in the pillars and windows of palaces is spectacular. The “Ankhijhyal”, eyed windows is very popular wooden craft work in Kathmandu. No wonder Kathmandu valley is a popular spot for sightseeing. As it possesses UNESCO heritage sites like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath temple, and Boudhanath stupa.

Ridge Hike of Kathmandu valley starts with a guided tour around the heritage sites in Kathmandu. After the tour, you will head to Sundarijal where the actual trekking starts. At first, the trail, go up through a stone-paved staircase. As you reach up to a certain point, the trail start descending down. As the trail descends, you will be blessed with the close of views of mountains swaddled in between the white snow. The views of the Himalayan panorama – Dhaulagiri range, Langtang range, Gauri Shankar range, and Manaslu range looks spectacular. The trail further goes through the lush forest that takes you to the popular hill station near Kathmandu valley – Nagarkot.

Nagarkot is a beautiful place that offers panoramic views of mountains all around. The sunrise and sunset views amidst the snow-clad mountains is a major attraction of Nagarkot. Also, the lush landscapes, and hills with mountain views is an awesome combination! After Leaving Nagarkot, you take a trail along with the lush villages that take you to Dhulikhel. Namo Buddha, a popular monastery in Dhulikhel is also one of the major highlights of this journey. At last, visiting the monastery, we conclude our journey with a ride back to Kathmandu.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Day
A representative from Himal Eco Treks will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to the hotel for check in. You will be explained about your plans ahead. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour
Your guide will pick you up at the hotel and escort you for a guided sightseeing tour to the UNESCO listed heritage sites in Kathmandu. First on our visit chart would be Kathmandu Durbar Square, an artistic palace built by the Malla kings of Nepal. We would then visit Swayambhunath stupa (the monkey temple), Pashupatinath temple and Boudhanath stupa. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 3: Drive to Sundarijal(1350m) and trek to Chisapani(2140m)
Today, we drive away from the hassle of Kathmandu city to Sundarijal. From Sundarijal, we ascend up along the stone paved staircase to a certain point and again descend down to Chisapani. The views of Annapurna range, Langtang Himal, Manaslu range, Gauri Shankar range, Ganesh Himal along the way is spectacular. It feels like we are surrounded by the Himalayas from every side. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Chisapani.
Day 4: Trek to Nagarkot(2175m)
After admiring the Himalayan panorama from Chisapani, we continue our trails through lush landscape to a forest. The trail is comparatively even and easy than that of yesterday however the walking hours today is a bit more. A walk in to a forest can be an opportunity to encounter some wild animals. We pass the forest and some vibrant villages to Nagarkot. Overnight at a hotel in Nagarkot.
Day 5: Trek to Dhulikhel(1550m)
Early in the morning, we go to the view point to admire the sunrise from the towering mountains of Nepal. The peaks of mountains surrounding you can be an awesome view to look after. Beholding the beauty of the mountains, we come back to hotel, take breakfast and start our journey to Dhulikhel. We walk along lush landscape applauding the beauty of lush hills and pristine atmosphere surrounding us. Overnight at a hotel in Dhulikhel
Day 6: Trek to Namobuddha(1750m) and drive back to Kathmandu(1400m)
Today, we start our hike to Namo Buddha. We walk along terraced farmland of rice, mustard and millet until we reach Namo Buddha. Namo Buddha is a popular Buddhist monastery in between Tamang settlements. It is said that King Mahasattva had offered his body to a hungry tigress at this place, therefore this place holds a high value to Buddhist people. After visiting Namo Buddha monastery in the lush and pristine environment, we drive back to Kathmnadu. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 7: Free Day in Kathmandu
A free day in Kathmandu! You can utilize the day as per your will. You can either stroll around the streets of Kathmandu or visit heritage sites in Patan or Kathmandu. You can also go to the malls for shopping. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 8: Departure Day
A farewell day when your guide will escort you to the airport for your journey ahead.
