Lobuche peak climbing is an absolute adventure when it comes to any challenging activity in the Everest region of Nepal. It takes you to the top of the Lobuche peak and lets you applaud the majestic beauty of towering mountains that rise above the elevation of eight thousand. The Lobuche peak lies near the Khumbu glacier at an elevation of 6145 meters. The peak was pioneered by Laurence Neilson and Ang Gyaljen Sherpa in 1984. Since then the peak has allured the attention of many enthusiastic peak climbers. After all, the peak offers some stunning views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, and Mt. Pumori. For Lobuche peak climbing, we catch a flight from the domestic terminal of Kathmandu airport to Lukla. From Lukla, we follow a trail that will lead us to Namche via Phakding. Then, we continue our journey through Tengboche and Dingboche to Lobuche. As we reach Lobuche, we diverge from the popular route of Everest Base Camp and follow a path to Lobuche Base Camp. As we reach the base camp, our climbing leader will lead us and we follow his/her footsteps to the summit of Lobuche peak. Upon successful completion, you will be blessed with stunning views of mountains in the Everest region. You will feel like you are just a bit away from the mighty Mt. Everest.

Itinerary Overview

  • Day 01: Arrival day :

    You will be welcomed by us at the airport and transferred to the hotel for check-in. Enjoy your time at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel

  • Day 02: Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu :

    Early in the morning, your guide will pick you up at the hotel for the sightseeing tour. Enjoy the historical and cultural aspect of Nepal in Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath stupa, Pashupatinath, and Boudhanath stupa. Today’s day is set aside for any last minute preparation for your trek if necessary.

  • Day 03: Fly to Lukla (2800m) and Trek to Phakding (2652m) :

    Today, we take an early flight to Lukla. A scenic flight with mind-blowing mountain views will take us to the Khumbu region of Nepal – Lukla. From Lukla airport, we descend down to the Dudhkoshi river to connect ourselves to the main trail to Namche. We stop at Phakding for an overnight halt. Enjoy your dinner at a guesthouse in Phakding.

  • Day 04: Trek to Namche (3440m) :

    Today, we follow the path along the Dudhkoshi river, cross a suspension bridge and few villages in between to Namche. Namche is a popular town in the Everest region of Nepal. Namche has its own charm, a bit of busy place that is rare in that mountainous area. Up to Namche, our trekking journey is easy in comparison to our journey ahead. Enjoy your dinner at a guesthouse in Namche Bazaar.

  • Day 05: Acclimatization in Namche :

    Today is a free day in Namche set aside for acclimatization! We can hike up to the Everest View Hotel for the splendid views of mountains like Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku, etc. On our way to the hotel, we come across the Syangboche airport. On our way back to Namche, we can visit a museum and a photo gallery. For the time saved, you can wander around the Namche bazaar to get acquainted with people and surrounding. Overnight at a hotel in Namche Bazaar.

  • Day 06: Trek to Tengboche (3870m) :

    Today, we continue our journey along the backdrop of majestic mountains to Tengboche. The spiritual destination of Buddhist people – Tengboche monastery is one of the major attractions of this place. We can visit the monastery for a spiritual touch to our journey. Apart from spirituality, the place is very popular for the striking views of mountains in the Everest region of Nepal. Today, we spent our night at a guesthouse in Tengboche.

  • Day 07: Trek to Dingboche (4360m) :

    Admiring the beauty from Tengboche, we head to Dingboche today. We cross a suspension bridge over Imja Khola and ascend to Pangboche that lies between beautiful Mani stones. We further climb up to the vibrant and charming Sherpa settlement of Dingboche. Dingboche is a popular summer valley at the high altitude region that bestows stunning views of Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Island Peak. Overnight at guesthouse in Dingboche.

  • Day 08: Acclimatization in Dingboche :

    As we reach Dingboche, we spend an extra day here for acclimatization purpose. We can wander around the valley or hike up to Nagarjun. Hike up to Nagarjun is best recommended for acclimatization. Though you need some rest, hiking up will add to your journey further. Today, we hike up a hill that lies on edge of Chhukung valley. The walk is steep and strenuous but the panoramic views of Lobuche East, Lobuche West, Kangtega, Taboche Peak, Thamserku and Ama Dablam from the top is outstanding. On a clear day, you can get some stunning views of Makalu too. After this steep climb up, we descend down slowly to Dingboche in the evening for overnight stay. We stay at a guesthouse in Nagarjun for the night.

  • Day 09: Trek to Lobuche (4940m) :

    Today, we leave Dingboche and continue along the trail to the wide valley to Dughla. On the way, we pass the Trekkers Aid Post at Pheriche which is regulated by Western volunteer doctors and assisted by the Himalayan Rescue Association. It offers necessary treatments to trekkers. We pass rock-strewn slants on the way and climb up to Chupki Lhara with stunning views of mountains. We can see the apex of Chupki Lhara adorned with prayer flags and Mani stones. We further walk down to the Khumbu Glacier moraine for scenic views of Khumbutse, Mahalangur Himal, Lingtren, and Pumori. From here, we continue walking until we reach Lobuche. We stay at a guesthouse in Lobuche for the night.

  • Day 10: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5364m) via Gorekshep (5170m) :

    Today, we head to our ultimate destination – The Everest Base Camp. We march slowly from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp via Goreshep. We can see some colorful prayer flags and stones piled up as we reach the Everest Base Camp. The moment in Everest Base camp(5364m) can be one of the best feelings you have ever had and you will ever have. Rejoice your time at the Base Camp. Overnight halt near the Everest Base Camp.

  • Day 11: Hike to Kalapatthar (5545m) and descend down to Lobuche (4940m) :

    Today is yet another beautiful day that you will rejoice forever and ever. We hike up to Kala Patthar( 5545m) for the close-up views of the mountains in the Everest region. The golden rays of the sun glittering in the White Mountain snow, you would surely wish for the time to freeze there, at that moment. The awesome views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Amadablam and many more standing tall one after the other, you couldn’t have asked for anything more. After the beautiful hike up to Kala Patthar, we descend down to Lobuche via Gorekshep. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Lobuche

  • Day 12: Trek to Lobuche Base Camp :

    Today, we head towards the Lobuche Base Camp. As we approach near the base camp, our path starts getting steeper and rocky. The Lobuche glacier and other surrounding peaks look gorgeous. From the base camp, we can enjoy some stunning views of Mt. Everest, Mt Ama Dablam, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse and many other peaks. Upon arrival, we take some lessons on climbing and use of aiming equipment from our leader. We practice throughout the day for an easier climbing experience. We spend our night in the tented camps in the Lobuche Base Camp.

  • Day 13: Trek to Lobuche High Camp (6145m) :

    Today, we ascend up to the Lobuche High Camp. We slowly continue through the trail to Lobuche High Camp until we reach the high camp. We will have extra time after reaching the high camp, therefore, we utilize the time exploring around the places in high camp. From the high camp, we will be blessed with the magnificent views of mountainous terrain and glaciers. We spend our night in the tented camps in the high camp.

  • Day 14: Summit the peak :

    Today is the day where we attempt our climb to the Lobuche peak. We follow our climbing leader and take care of do’s and so not’s during the climb. We start our peak climbing journey early in the morning so as to avoid the bad weather in the afternoon. Once we get to the top, we will be rewarded with some striking views of the mountains in the Everest region. After relishing the glory of mountains from the top, we descend down to the Lobuche Base Camp for the overnight stay. We spend our night in the tented camps in the Lobuche Base Camp.

  • Day 15: Trek back to Dingboche (4360m) :

    Today, we descend down and make our walk to Dingboche. Our walk for the day is full of mind-blowing views of mountains, pastures and wild nature. We spend our night at a guesthouse in Dingboche.

  • Day 16: Trek to Namche (3440m) :

    Today, we retrace our footsteps back from Dingboche to Namche Bazaar. We walk through same ups and downs, through the same rhododendron and pine forests to the buzzing town of Namche Bazaar. Overnight at a guesthouse in Namche Bazaar

  • Day 17: Trek to Lukla (2800m) :

    Today, we leave Namche and stroll down through the same well-paved path to Lukla. Overnight at a guesthouse

  • Day 18: Fly to Kathmandu :

    Today, we head back to the capital city – Kathmandu, the place from where we started our journey. Overnight in the hotel

  • Day 19: Leisure day in Kathmandu :

    Today is your leisure day in Kathmandu. You can either rest or stroll across the valley for shopping or anything else as per your preference. Overnight in the hotel

  • Day 20: Departure Day :

    Finally, it is time for us to bid you a goodbye. Your guide will escort you to the airport before your scheduled flight for your journey ahead.
