Trip Overview

Naya Kanga Peak (5122m) also known as Ganja La Chuli, an adventurous mountain that rises to the west of Ganja La. Hence, a popular mountain for peak climbing but difficult at the same time. Naya Kanga peak lies in Lnagatang region of Nepal. Thus, it is a popular trekking route too.

The journey to the Naya Kanga Peak offers the spectacular panoramic views of Langshisa Ri (6,370m), Pemthang Ri (6,836m), Shisapangma (8,046m), Langtang Lirung (7,425m), Pemthang Kapro Ri (6,830m) and Langtang II (6,571m). On this trek you have the views of mountains which is home to both Nepal and Nepal. This peak also offers magnificent views of Helambhu mountain range including Dorje Lakpa and others.

Since, Naya kanga is popular for peak climbing, to do this trek one would need a high level of Physical fitness. So, if you think you are fit enough to do this trek, this is absolutely an adventure you will never forget. And all the hard work of climbing the slopes of snow is so worth it. From the top of the peak, you can see the most beautiful panoramic views of mountains in Langtang range and Tibet. Naya Kanga Peak climbing is the most easily accessible peak for the peak climbing. By all means, a perfect destination for anyone who wants to collect a climbing experience. The climb up to the peak is straight forward which makes it even more challenging.

Your expedition to Naya Kanga peak begins with a scenic drive along the Trishuli river to Syabru bensi from Kathmandu. The actual trek starts from there. As you walk along the lush farm lands and forests you can see lively Tamang villages. It gives an opportunity to see the various ethnic settlements on the trail which gives an insight on their culture and lifestyle inhabiting in those area. After passing the undulating paths, it will bring you across the beautiful valley of langtang. Also the wild and dry terrain of Langtang is fascinating.

From the valley, you ascend up to Kyanjin Gompa and hike up to Tserko Ri. There you get the glorious views of mountains like Sisapangma, Langshisa Ri, NayaKang, Yala peak, Langtang Lirung and many others.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Day
As you arrive in Kathmandu, your guide will pick you up and escort you to the hotel for check in. You will be informed about your plans further. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing and Trek preparation
After breakfast, we take a tour to Kathmandu valley which includes sightseeing of cultural heritages i.e. Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath stupa and Bhaktapur Durbar square. After sightseeing, we check our equipment requirements for the trek and make necessary preparation for the trek. Overnight stay at the hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 3: Drive to Syabru bensi
Early in the morning, we head towards Syabru bensi. After thirty kilometres drive, we arrive at the pristine villages on the banks of Trishuli river. At Syabru bensi, we can get a glimpse of mountains like Mt. Annapurna, Mt Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and other ranges in the Lantang region of Nepal. Overnight at a guesthouse in Syabru bensi.
Day 4: Trek to Lama Hotel
Today, we initiate our trekking journey. Leaving Syabru Bensi, we walk ahead and cross Ghopcha Khola. We pass terraced fields and dense forests of oak, bamboo, alder and maple. Lantang region is rich with variety of rare flora and faunas. On the way we may catch a glimpse of animals like wild boar, red panda, langur monkey, Himalayan black bear and many others. As we move ahead, we cross a bridge over a stream and ascend steeply along the trail. We come across a suspension bridge from where we continue to the north bank of langtang Khola. As we move forward, we will be blessed with the view of stunning waterfall amidst the oak forest. We keep on moving forward until we reach the Lama Hotel. Overnight at Lama Hotel.
Day 5: Trek to Langtang village
Today, we continue ascending above the Lantang Khola. As we ascend up, our trail gets steeper and we will be rewarded with the views of Lantang lirung that stands tall at the height of 7246m. We head forward, cross a log bridge and climb up to the meadows of Ghoda Tabela. We pass various lodges and police station on the way as the trail widens to a valley of yak pastures. We can see the Tamang villages scattered with prayer wheels and water driven mills. We continue our journey until we cross a stream and reach Lantang village. As we arrive in the village, we can see the flat roofed Tibetan style houses. Overnight at a guesthouse in Lantang village.
Day 6: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa
Our trail ascends gradually through small villages and yak pastures. As our trail opens into the valley, the views of mountains becomes more clear and distinct. We cross several small streams and moraines until we reach the settlement at Kyangjin. As we arrive at Kyangjin, we stroll around the village. The dramatic terrain with mind blowing views of snow clad peaks such as Langtang Lirung, Ganjala peak, Tserko Ri and Langsisa Ri surrounding the place is fascinating. Overnight at a guesthouse in Kyanjin Gompa.
Day 7: Rest day in Kyanjin Gompa for acclimatization
Today is a day set aside for acclimatization in Kyanjin Gompa. We hike up to Tserko Ri at the heights of 4,984m and explore the rugged and beautiful mountain ranges. As we hike up, we will be rewarded with the views of mountains like Sisapangma, Langshisa Ri, NayaKang, Yala peak, Langtang Lirung and many others. If lucky, we can encounter some Himalayan pheasants and Himalayan deer on our way. In the evening, we descend down to Kyanjin Gompa and stay at a guesthouse.
Day 8: Trek to Naya Kanga Base Camp
We continue our trail to Naya Kanga Base Camp. We cross a river and climb uphill. We pass mountain slopes under the shade of rhododendron and juniper forest to a meadow. We set our camp at Naya Kanga Base Camp for the night.
Day 9: Trek to High camp
Today, we hike up through a rocky path to the glacier section. We set up our camp at the eastern end of the glacier beneath the north face of the Naya Kanga peak. Overnight at a tented camp in the Naya Kanga High camp.
Day 10: Climb the Naya Kanga peak and descend down to base camp
Today is the big day of our climbing journey. We cross a glacier shelf and climb up to the base of the ridge. We further climb up to summit the peak of Naya Kanga. From the peak, we can get some fascinating views of mountains in Nepal and Tibet region. After conquering the summit of the peak, we descend down to the base camp for overnight stay.
Day 11: Reserve day for any contingencies
A reserve day is kept aside in case of any contingencies during our climb. Generally, peak of mountains tend to have climbing can sometimes be interrupted
Day 12: Return to Kyanjin Gompa
Day 13: Trek to Lama Hotel
We retrace our journey back to Lama Hotel. We climb uphill, hike through pastures and cross several bridges over stream water to Lama Hotel. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 14: Trek to Syabrubensi
We descend down through lush vegetation and cross Langtang Khola enjoying the views of mountains in the backdrop. Overnight at a guesthouse in Syabrubensi.
Day 15: Drive Back to Kathmandu
We drive back to Kathmandu via Trishuli river admiring the countryside landscape of Nepal. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 16: Leisure day in Kathmandu
Today is your leisure day in Kathmandu. You can either rest or stroll across the valley for shopping or anything else as per your preference. You can also opt for sightseeing tour to Patan and Bhaktapur if interested. In the evening, you will be treated with an authentic Nepalese cuisine as a farewell dinner. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 17: Departure Day
You guide will transfer you to the airport for your journey ahead.
