Trip Overview

Langtang valley trek, a mind-blowing natural beauty which has made this trekking in Nepal, one of the cherished trek among many other trails. Langtang valley is also popular for the wild and tranquil landscape it possesses. Despite the easy accessibility from the Kathmandu, you might get shocked to see the remote condition of the valley. And this remoteness has been an appeal for the entire Tourist who visits this area. Another main attraction of this valley is the sky-piercing mountains and the glaciers. Nonetheless, a walk through the pine forest, Rhododendron, and Bamboo forest can be an invigorating experience.

Langtang Valley Trek starts with a drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Bensi. From Syabrubesi, we make our way to Lama Hotel along the forests of bamboo. We further walk through the forests of bamboo, pine, and rhododendron to Langtang village. In this trek, we will be walking inside the Langtang National Park. Therefore, the trek can be a wonderful opportunity to encounter some wildlife that lies within. By luck, we might be able to see red Panda but the chance is rare as the animal itself.

At Langtang village, we can enjoy the lifestyle of people residing in that area. It can be an opportunity to get some insights on people, their culture, custom and religious insight. The people residing in these areas are mostly Buddhist. The influence of Buddhism can be predicted from the prayer flags, Chortens, mani walls and gompas in those areas. Cheese factory and Kyangjin gompa are two popular must-visit places in Langtang village. The hike up to Chokari Ri for stunning views of mountains and icefalls is always worth it. From the top, you can see some glorifying views of Ganjala, Ganesh Himal Langtang Lirung, Manaslu, Tserko Ri and Langsisa Ri.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Day
Upon your arrival in Nepal, a representative from Himal Eco Treks will pick you up at the airport and escort you to a hotel in Kathmandu. Check in to the hotel and the representative will brief you on the itinerary ahead. Enjoy your evening at the hotel.
Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu and trek preparation
We start our day with a sightseeing tour around the UNESCO listed heritage sites in Kathmandu. At first, we visit the Kathmandu Durbar Square and then head towards Swayambhunath temple. Next, we head to Pashupatinath temple and conclude our sightseeing tour with a visit to Boudhanath stupa at Boudhanath. Our tour today would be full of cultural and religious exploration. Day 3: Drive to Syabru Besi
Early in the morning, we head towards Syabrubensi. After thirty kilometers drive, we arrive at the pristine villages on the banks of Trishuliriver. At Syabrubensi, we can get a glimpse of mountains like Mt. Annapurna, Mt Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and other ranges in the Langtang region of Nepal. Overnight at a guesthouse in Syabrubensi
Day 4: Trek to Lama Hotel
Leaving Syabru Bensi, we warm up ourselves with a slow and steady walk along our trail to Lama Hotel. The trail ascends up as we traverse through the forest and then to Bamboo village. at Bamboo village, we stop for lunch and then continue through a forested area along a leveled path to Lama Hotel. On the way, we can enjoy the lush views of forests with some wildlife which included squirrel, bees, and chirping birds. We stay at a guesthouse in Lama Hotel for the night.
Day 5: Trek to Langtang Village
Today, we leave Lama Hotel and continue our walk through the rhododendron and pine forest to Ghoda Tabela. The path to Ghoda Tabela is easy and quite pleasing with the pristine environment all around. Ghoda Tabela is a Nepali word that translates horse stable in English. The literal meaning of Ghoda Tabela in English literature is horse stable. As we reach Ghoda Tabela, we stop for lunch and rest for a while exploring the mesmerizing surrounding around. After a while, we continue through our trail and keep walking for around three hours along a lush environment until we reach Langtang village. We stay at a guesthouse in Langtang village for the night.
Day 6: Langtang village to Kyangjin Ri and back to Kynagjin gompa
Langtang village is a beautiful and charming village with warm people all around. We can enjoy the beautifully built houses and farmlands around the house as we pass through the village. From the village, our trail climbs up slowly until we open up to a yak pasture. From the pasture, we make a way to Laja Khola and cross the river. We then climb up a moraine from where we can get some fascinating views of Kyangin gompa with an icefall that flows from Langtang Lirung. Besides these, we will be blessed with some glorifying views of Ganjala, Langtang Lirung, Tserko Ri and Langsisa Ri. We continue through the trail until we reach Kyangjin Gompa. From the gompa, we hike up to Kyanjin Ri from where we can get more clear views of mountains, icefalls and much other wild landscape. In the evening, we return back to Kynajin gompa for an overnight stay.
Day 7: Kyangjin gompa exploration and hike to Chorkari Ri
Today, we wake up early and explore around the gompa. We then head towards the popular cheese factory. At the cheese factory, you can purchase some delicious cheese made up from yak milk. After the cheese factory, we make our way to Chokari Ri. We hike up to the Ri for the beautiful views of mountains and icefalls in the Langtang region of Nepal. As we reach the top of the Ri, we will be blessed with some mesmerizing views of mountains with Langtang village down below. Chokari Ri lies at an elevation of 5050 meters and this is the highest point of Langtang valley trek. After relishing the glory of Langtang ranges from the top, we make our way down to Kyangjin Gompa for the night. (Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included)
Day 8: Kyangjin Gompa to Lama Hotel
After rejuvenating ourselves with the natural and cultural exploration at Langtang village, it’s time for us to embark on our return journey to Kathmandu. Today, we leave the Kyangin gompa and retrace our steps back along the same beautiful trail to Langtang village and then to Lama Hotel via Ghoda Tabela. We traverse through beautiful forests and continue our descent down to Lama Hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 9: Lama Hotel to Syabru Besi
Moving forward with our steps back to Kathmandu, today, we leave Lama Gaon and walk through the beautiful forests of pine, rhododendron, and bamboo to Syabrubensi. We can relish the same beauty of nature and lushness in the environment on our return journey as well. Stay at a guesthouse in Syabrubensi for the night.
Day 10: Syabru Besi to Kathmandu
Today, we drive back along the same path from Syabru Besi to Kathmandu. The route is quite scenic which will captivate you throughout the day. Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, you will be escorted to your hotel. Check-in and stay at a hotel in Kathmandu for the night.
Day 11: Farewell
After the wonderful days of trekking with Himal Eco Treks, it’s time for us to bid you a goodbye. Your guide will escort you to the airport before your scheduled flight for your journey ahead.
