The Ghorepani & Poon Hill Panorama Trek is a must-do for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Starting with a scenic drive or flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara, followed by a drive to Nayapul, this trek will take you through charming villages such as Tikhedhunga, Ghorepani, and Ghandruk. You’ll trek through lush rhododendron forests, cross mountain streams, and enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

The highlight of the trek is the Poon Hill viewpoint, where you’ll witness a spectacular sunrise over the Himalayas. The viewpoint offers panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges, as well as views of other peaks like Nilgiri and Machhapuchhre.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Day
Arrive at Tribhuwan Internation Airport in Kathmandu. Our airport representative will pick you up and transfer you to hotel for check in. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu
After your breakfast at the hotel, your guide will pick you up from the hotel for a guided sightseeing tour. Admire the historical and cultural aspect of Nepal in Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath stupa, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath stupa. It is an opportunity to learn about art, history and culture of Nepal in an authentic manner. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 3: Drive to Pokhara in tourist bus (6 hrs)
Today, we drive along the Trishuli river admiring the scenic views of lush hills, forests, rivers and countryside of Nepal. After six hours drive, we reach Pokhara. In the evening, you can stroll down the streets or visit lakeside to see the reflection of Macchapucchre Himal on the serene water of Fewa Lake. Overnight at a hotel in Pokhara.
Day 4: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedhunga
Today, we drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and start our trekking journey. We walk along the bank of Modi Khola to Birethanti and climb up steadily to the Hile valley until we reach Tikhedhunga. Our walk today is quite easy and smooth. Overnight at a guesthouse in Tikhedhunga.
Day 5: Trek to Ghorepani
Today we cross a suspension bridge over a stream near Tikhedhunga and follow our trail up to Ghorepani. We ascend up putting our steps forward on a steep stone paved staircase and pass the village of Ulleri. We further climb up gently through pastures and cultivated fields to Nangethanti. We continue climbing up our trail until we reach Ghorepani. Admire the views of Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Dhaulagiri and Mt. Macchapucchhre from Ghorepani. Overnight at a guesthouse in Ghorepani.
Day 6: Hike to Poon Hill and trek to Tadapani
Today, we wake up early in the morning to cherish the sunrise views from Poon Hill. We hike up to Poon hill which is a popular vantage point in Annapurna region for best mountain views of the region. We hike up to Poon Hill and appreciate the views of golden sun rays fall on the glittering snow of Annapurna Panorama. Beholding the views of Annapurna massif, we descend down through rhododendron forests to Tadapani. Overnight at a guesthouse in Tadapani.
Day 7: Trek to Ghandruk
Leaving Tadapani behind, we continue our trail through the dense rhododendron forests to the village of Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a popular Gurung village in Annapurna region inhabited by people of Gurung origin. The village of Ghandruk is best known for its lush landscape and wonderful views of the mountains like Mt. Macchapucchhre, Mt. Annapurna, Hiuchuli and many more. Overnight at a guesthouse in Ghandruk.
Day 8: Trek to Nayapul and drive back to Pokhara
We descend down to Birethanti and retrace our way back down through stone staircase and terraced farmland to Nayapul. From Nayapul, we drive to Pokhara. Overnight at a hotel in Pokhara.
Day 9: Sightseeing in Pokhara
Today is an exciting day in Pokhara. You must have heard about the glory of Pokhara valley which is renowned over the world for its picturesque beauty and adventure activities. Pokhara city is a super combo of fun and adventure. You can never get bored of it in any ways. Early in the morning, we walk around the lakeside and enjoy boating to a temple in between the Fewa lake. The views of Annapurna and Fishtail Himal from lakeside is absolutely fabulous. From lakeside, we head to Gupteshwor temple and then to David’s fall (water fall). We wind up our sightseeing tour at the International Mountain Museum. Overnight stay at a hotel in Pokhara.
Day 10: Drive to Kathmandu
We drive back to Kathmandu along the Trisuli river appreciating the beauty of lush hills, dramatic landscape and pristine river water. After around six hours drive, we find ourselves in Kathmandu. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 11: Departure Day
Your guide will escort you to the airport few hours before your scheduled flight. We wish you luck for your journey ahead.
