Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trek can be the most adventurous and challenging trek in a remote region of Nepal. It is a fabulous way to experience Nepal with a mixture of nature and culture in abundance. Dhaulagiri Trek is truly an adventurous trek that requires an ability to deal with unexpected. And also it can be an immensely rewarding opportunity to experience the magnificence of massive Dhaulagiri ranges all at once.
Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trek starts from Beni on the Kali Gandaki River. Kali gandaki river ascends to the beautiful, unspoiled valley of Myagdi Khola. This river flows southwards from the heart of the Dhaulagiri Himal. The ever-changing landscape and pleasant villages to Dhaulagiri Base camp makes this trek even more interesting. The challenge of crossing Mountain passes i.e. French pass (5360 meter) and Thapa Pass (5200 meter) and a walk on an icy track is indeed a thrilling experience. The mountain views on the ascent and descent of this route are simply beautiful. The beautiful rhododendron forests, deciduous oak trees and junipers will keep your spirits up the whole time.
Exploring the hidden valley, crossing the Dhampus Pass and making a long descent to Marpha in the Kali Gandaki Valley adds to the joy of this trek. This trek can also be an opportunity to explore the local life styles of Gurung, Magar and other community people with their culture. The trek concludes after a flight back to Pokhara from the airstrip at Jomsom. After exploring the lakeside town, Pokhara we return back to Kathmandu.
Day 1-4 (Arrival – Sibang)
You will arrive in Kathmandu. Next day your guide will take you for the sightseeing of Kathmandu .the very next day you will drive to Darbang via Trishuli and next destination will be Sibang where your treks begins.
Day 5-10 (Litschi- Italian Base Camp)
Litschi is followed by the Sibang. Then we trek to Boghara, Choriban Khola and Italian base. We will stop for acclimization.
Day 11-15 (Glacier camp - Yak kharka)
After the acclimatization we start our trek to glacier camp and then to Daulagiri base camp.there we will stop for acclimatization. Then again next day we will start trek for cross French pass to the hidden valley.from there we trek to cross Dhampus pass and trek to Yak Kharka.
Day 16-19 (Jhomsom - Kathmandu)
From the Yak Kharka we descend down to Jhomsom where we will take a flight for the Pokhara. We will have a leisure day in Pokhara and after that we fly back to Kathmandu.

Regarding your arrival
As you arrive at the airport in Kathmandu, you will have to pay the Visa charges to enter in to Nepal. Two passport size photos are necessary for this purpose.
Your guide will be there at the airport to pick you up and escort you to the hotel for check in. After a bit of refreshment, your guide will explain your itinerary and your plan ahead.
We offer you the best accommodations possible. The rooms will be clean, comfortable and homely. In Kathmandu, you will stay at a hotel with deluxe rooms. During the trek, you will stay at the best guesthouses or lodges. Generally, accommodation during the trek in guesthouses are on sharing basis. However, the rooms are clean, comfortable and the warm welcome of the people in the guesthouses will make you feel greeted and homely.
Meals and Drinking water facility
The meals during the trek are included in the package that we offer. The meals include breakfast, lunch and dinner during the trek. Other snacks and personal preference items are not included in our package.
If you want to exchange your currency with the Nepalese currency, you can exchange it at the counters in airport. It is reliable when you exchange the currency through banks or other certified money exchangers. You can find the exchange rate for the day in website of Nepal Rastra Bank.
Travel Insurance is highly recommended as it is for your own safety and security. Our package doesn’t include the cost of travel insurance. You are responsible for your travel insurance.
Import and Export during the travel
You can import some duty free items prescribed by the Custom Act in Nepal. You can bring a 1.15ml bottle of distilled liquor, 200 cigarettes and 50 cigars. Also you can also bring laptop, video camera, binoculars and other portable items that are essential for you. In case of export, it is prohibited to carry the paintings, manuscripts or other things of cultural importance which carries over 100 years of history. In case you purchase any kind of statues of paintings, you need to verify it at the Department of Archaeology before export.
High altitude sickness
Many people suffer from high altitude sickness while they opt out for trekking in high altitude regions. There might be various causes for high altitude sickness. It may be due to lack of your body endurance or due to lack of proper acclimatization and many more, Therefore, one needs to be alert about the possible risks. Himal Eco Treks (HET) team always carries a first aid tool with them in case of emergencies. However, it is recommended for you to keep the knowledge of high altitude sickness.
